The Bridges Tea Dance
The Tea Dance is held at Bridges Community Centre every Thursday from 1.45pm to 3.15pm. We have an hour of dancing lead by a qualified dance instructor, then a cup of tea and a chat.
Through the Tea dance people have established strong friendships and have a new sense of belonging. Some have taken on the responsibility for jobs involved in the running of the project such as welcoming new attendees, helping with the teas or being committee members.
Some people have explained that it is the high spot of the week I have seen carers with tears running down their cheeks as they and their partners get up to dance and those skills learnt so long ago are remembered as they happily glide and stumble across the floor!
